Speaker Information

 Jen LaFontaine

Jen Lafontaine is the Special Projects Director at The Ivey Brain Health and Memory Wellness Center. In this role, Jen leads the efforts to educate the community about the importance of brain health. As part of the original team to put this solution together in 2021, she worked to gather Subject Matter Experts, both Ph.Ds and MDs, to lead the 12-week program and speak on the science-backed data and lifestyle changes within each of the pillars of brain health. The Ivey has had over 100 participants graduate through the 12-week Brain Health Program.

Born in Oneida, NY, Jen’s family found a home in North Carolina when she was 5. After going through the Catholic School System, she attended and graduated with a BA in Communications and Business from NC State University.

After graduation, her parents started a privately owned homecare agency called Partners In Care in Charlotte. Jen joined the team after just six months and helped her parents grow the agency over 10 years, eventually selling it to a national home care company.

Jen has stayed on that path, with her passion still in the aging adult industry. She has worked with The Ivey for 10 years and now supports not only The Ivey but multiple aging adult companies in the Charlotte community with their operations. Jen’s expertise in recruitment, team building, and company culture brings energy and retention to the companies she works with, which is why she is excited to be here to speak to you today.

Jen is a certified Project Management Professional and holds a certificate in Brain Health from ALLEGRA Learning Solutions at The University of New Hampshire. Brain health will continue to drive Jen’s professional and personal passion. Brain health is paramount in the workplace as it directly impacts employees' productivity, creativity, and overall well-being. She also wants to be as clear and present as possible to enjoy her husband and 2 kids for as long as possible and to help others do the same.
